History

Michael Tait began his music career as a member of the Christian supergroup DC Talk from 1988 to 2000.

From 2000 to 2007, he recorded and toured with his band, (called Tait) which included, at various times, members Evan Wetherford, Jordan Hester, Chad Chapin, Pete Stewart, Justin York, Brian Nutter, Lonnie Chapin, and Dave Clo. Tait released two albums, Empty (2001) and Lose This Life (2003). In 2004, his band Tait won a Dove Award for Lose This Life. An unreleased album titled Loveology, originally scheduled for 2007 release, is in uncertain territory, as Michael has not commented on its future.

In 2009, Michael was tapped by Newsboys to become their lead singer on the road. However, the band has confirmed that he did not replace their lead singer on their upcoming studio album, In the Hands of God.
