Kevin Max (born Kevin Max Smith, legally Kevin Max since 1997) began his music career as a member of the Christian supergroup DC Talk from 1988 to 2000.
Since going solo in 2001, Max has released 3 EPs and 4 full-length albums, including one Christmas album, Holy Night. He has taken part in numerous collaborations, and played the lead role in a revival of the classic Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
In addition to his music career, Max starred in an independent film, The Imposter Movie, which is still in its production phase.
He has also written several books. These include At the Foot of Heaven (1994), which featured Max's poetry; Unfinished Work (2001), an autobiography and commentary on the Stereotype Be album; The Detritus of Dorian Gray (2003), also a poetry book; and another book of poems, PO/ET/RY (2005).
