History

Derek Webb joined Caedmon's Call in 1994 after the bands first few shows but before releasing any albums. He provided lead guitar and significant songwriting for up until he departed.

Derek left Caedmon's Call in 2003 to pursue a solo career. His first album, She Must and Shall Go Free caused controversy becaue of its use of "strong" language. Some Christian retailers refused to carry it.

Derek's solo work has failed to reach the level of commercial succes that he had with Caedmon's Call because of the experimental nature of the music and lyrical content that is seen as controversial in some Christian circles.

In 2007, Derek rejoined Caedmon's Call for the album [[Overdressed].

Stockholm Syndrome a new solo project is slated to release in May of 2009.
